Indoor growing
Grow Lights, the Photoperiod Timer and the Grow Tent.
Grow Lights
Ceiling panels that shine while they get a redstone signal and have energy. Each has a 24 000 FE buffer filled from cables, or by right-clicking it with furnace fuel (10 FE per burn tick). An empty hand shows the energy.
| Light | Light level | FE/t while on | Heat in a tent |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fluorescent | 12 | 6 | — |
| HPS | 15 | 20 | +0.3 |
| LED | 14 | 10 | +0.1 |
When on, the underside renders full-bright.
Photoperiod Timer
A redstone source with two modes; right-click to switch:
- Veg (18/6): on for 18 hours of each day, starting at dawn.
- Flower (12/12): on for 12 hours.
Wire it to the lights with redstone, or put the lights right next to it.
Photoperiod plants (cannabis) indoors flower only on short days. Each grow light remembers its last dark period. A plant under a light whose last night was at least 10 hours long and ended within the last day has short days. So a light on Flower flowers the plant, while Veg or constant light keeps it vegetative, regardless of season. Autoflowering genomes ignore all of this.
Grow Tent
Grow Tent Panels are black canvas outside and reflective mylar inside. When you place one, the mylar faces the way you look, so build walls from outside and look down when you lay the roof. A plant with a panel above it and panels on all four sides (within 6 blocks each way) is inside a tent. It grows in a controlled climate instead of the biome's: temperature 0.8 plus the heat of the lit grow lights above it, downfall 0.6. The panels also keep sunlight out, so the lights and the timer decide the day.
